Is government spying on US citizens OK?

In my honest opinion the government has no business spying on it’s own citizens. I know there’s a need to protect us from terrorists that wish to destroy our way of life. Our president has said that we need to compromise our freedom somewhat in the name of preserving freedom. Is that possible? How is losing freedom preserving it? At what point does the end not justify the means? Can we really believe that they will never listen to private calls? Are they listening to every ones calls now? I believe that they are. Please don’t call me a conspiracy theorist. For why else would they need that monstrous new warehouse for data? Just meta data? I don’t think so. Our calls are being recorded and listened to. To some extent at least. Are you ok with this?

  1. In my honest opinion the government has no business listening in on our phone calls or watching our internet activity. I have no problem with the collection of Meta Data, but can we trust that they will limit it to that? I’m convinced that at the moment it’s needed our President would not hesitate to authorize the listening in on our private calls. He will not be concerned with the FISA courts at all, they wouldn’t even be a stumbling block. In fact I would bet all the tea in China that all calls are being monitored to some extent at least. Why else would they need that monstrous new warehouse to store data? Just for meta data? I think not…
